Howdy all- I'm not new to the forum but haven't been on for a long time. Just Traded my '13 GTI DE for a '16 Autobahn with performance package. Love the updates!! One of the aftermarket items I'm considering is the ABT - REAR SKIRT SET. The stock rear skirt doesn't completely cover the somewhat exposed (plain, plain) transverse muffler . . . one of my very few displeasures with the appearance of the GTI. My '13's muffler was also exposed but it had channels in the design so to me it looked much better. I've seen pics of the ABT setup and it looks great. Anyone have first-hand experience with it? I'm mostly concerned about the quality of the fitment.

    Afternoon Gents,

New to the car owning thing, but my first car is 05 1.8T / GTI. It doesn't have the little GTI decal on the back, but it has GTI on the floor mats, so must be legit right? I'm very interested in learning more about maintenance and work that I can do on it, and possibly upgrading parts to get it to the beautiful sleeper status (kind of a pipe dream, I know).

I replaced the alternator a couple weeks ago, changed the oil and filter, got a couple o2 and temp senors done on it, but that's all the work I've had done. Looking toward doing the brake calipers and pads soon.

Excited to finally have a reason to join this forum! Just purchased a 6-speed 2006 Candy White GTI. And boy, what a step up from my previous MKIV 2.Slow Jetta. I'm already itching to do a full sound system, and I'm sure this forum is chocked full of tips and guides. I'll post pictures as soon as I figure out how to work my Rockford-Fosgate T1 into this bad-boy.

Hi Folks, just traded in my 2014 Golf TDI with buyback and having admired the GTI for years opted for a new one yesterday. 2017 GTI Autobahn, Night Blue Metallic in color. I have had TDIs since my first diesel purchased in 2004. I bought my first VW van in 1970 and have owned about a dozen.
I hope to gain lots of information from all of you and provide any help I can give also.
    Cheers. John

My name is Wes, I am not new to VW/Audi's, but new to this forum. I now have a third VW/Audi in the family and decided to mod this one out. Just going to have a little fun with it and be a pure fun car. I have the luxuray of having a Durango RT Hemi as a garage queen and a Ford f350 beast to do the heavy hauling with. So when I am in between upgrades or paint projects, its no big deal. My adult son, who also drives a GTI, wants me to document the progress. So, I may attempt to film some of the successes and failures as I go. (I am sure there will be plenty of the latter)

The car is a 2003 GTI 20th anniversary #210, (black).

I hope to meet some new friends and have fun sharing the experence with the community.

    Feel free to follow along.

New to the GTI world. Just bought a '17 with 6-speed manual transmission. I'm upgrading from a Prius, yes, a Prius. Anything I need to know about breaking my new vehicle in? It's got 70 miles on it now. Matt

Hey everyone I've had my mk7 GTI 40th for a month now and I love it. I've only ever owned manuals so I went with the manual again. So loving the power and response time. Fuel consumption is a little more than I was expecting but for the performance it's a price I'm more than willing to pay. Hope to hear more from this thread
