the DSG is similar to a manual transmission, so when you are at a stop and ur foots on the brake, you'd be in neutral, thats why the car doesn't roll as soon as u let off the brake.

(Im talking out of my a$$ rite now, please no one flame me. But I think something I just said was correct hah)

And dont worry, you dont need to get off the line that quick.

are you talking about lag? when you step on the accelerator is there a moment of slight acceleration then there is the rush of power?

bring up your revs before launching. about 1700 rpms is a good launch area. that lets the turbo spool and will get rid of most of the lag.

i don't get how it's caused anxious moments.

    Let me ask you something:

Are you trying to floor it when you get the hesitation?

I have an 07, and i remember trying to floor it and it hesitated a lot.
I got my transmission reflashed for Launch Control and it went away.

Yea, Seatbelt on and doors locked. Still can get it to go over 1500.
May be I need to get the transmission flashed, like one of the other guy says.
I don't know else to do.

Well if your buttons for locks and wondows work, then its probably not it. I have seen this happen on my buddies r32 where his LC and buttons were not working.

Went in today to vw dealer, finally found Tech who knew what LC was and he took care of it. Just a thought for some of you, while flashing my transmission for LC, the software showed my system was missing a couple more plus a couple valves and sensors needed replaced. Fortunately for me all was under warrantey. Think about it. Oh, LC works like a champ.

The thing that ginked me early on was 2-foot driving in tight situations. I was used to being able to keep a foot on the brake, even slightly depressed when making my trademark violent moves in heavy traffic, especially quick pullouts. The GTI's electronic accelerator is disabled when the brake pedal is depressed which let to a few very scary merges, not turbo lag but complete, dead-in-the-water nothingness until I realized I was hosing myself. I still don't like it but I've learned.

    Regards
