Difference Between FSI and TSI?

hi every i was planning to get a new intake and exhaust for my MKV GTI
and out of curiosity what is the difference between a FSI and a TSi engine. when i poped my hood it said TSI on the engine. And all the intakes from neuspeed fits an FSI engine ( correct me if i am wrong). is this bad?
if so what brand is good for my car

I dont think anyone has anything for that car yet. I called vw last week and their sales people werent even aware that the gti's they were getting in had a different engine in it. At waterfest all the vendors were asking if my gti had a tsi in it because they said they had nothing for it yet. APR said they couldnt "crack" the code for ecu tuning either.

TSI=Turbo Supercharged Injection=not available in U.S.=bummer
FSI=Fuel Straight Injection=currently available in U.S.

does that mean that the tsi engine has a turbo and a supercharger and if it does that sounds retarded i bet that it wouldent accelerate smoothly at all

TSI - is the twin charged engine


And turbo/supercharged cars are rare but not impossible. Check out last month's Eurotuner, it has a MKIV twincharged and a 3 series BMW twincharged. Pretty sick

Guys the us version of the "tsi" is not twincharged. It is just an updated fsi motor with some changes done to it. Check out this link and you can look at the vw manual on the engine. Besides being chain driven I know it has a different head with "valve lift" technology and supposedly has better fuel economy and torque. clicky http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3889971

Looks like they've cracked the ECU and the TSI engine also has a bit more power than the old FSI =)
