\n Talking What a Bunny.\n

\n \n\n\n \n \n
\n
\n
\n Hello, everyone.
\n
\nBeen a few years since I\'ve been on here, but it\'s been a few years since I owned a hatch.
\n
\nBUT I\'M BACK. YAY! Or not. Whichever.
\n
\nAnyway, I know it\'s not exactly a GTI, but it\'s close. I\'ve recently acquired a 2008 Rabbit, and I actually enjoy it a little bit.
\n
\nSince the last time I was here, I\'ve had a 99.5 Audi A4 Quattro Manual that I did some mods to. I traded that for a 2000 A4 Avent Manual Quattro that was stock. Then I traded that for a stock 02 A4 Quattro Manual. Did some stuff to that, decided that needed to go, and traded it for this 08 Rabbit. The B6 had 167k on it, and was an 02. I traded for this \'08 Rabbit with 98k on it, so I think I did good. The only mod on the Rabbit is an exhaust which I think sounds pretty good.
\n
\nPlanned mod list for the Rabbit?
\nIntake (suggestions?)
\nRedo the exhaust.
\nLower it.
\nDifferent wheels.
\nTuned (suggestions?)
\nUnderdrive pulley
\nMk6 Plaid interior seats
\nSome other little things. Ideas are always welcome.
\n
\nI plan to use this as like an idea/help type thread. Just kinda get back into the VW stuff and meet some new forum members and things like that.
\n
\nAnyway, onto the only picture I have of it right now because it\'s pretty dirty.

\n Let me be the first to say Back! And hey, it may not be a GTI, but hell, just remember, a Rabbit is just a re-branded Golf. SO... it\'s still a Golf
    \n
\nSo you planning to do any mods on your bunny?\n

    \r\n
\nYep. I have a "planned mod list" above my picture in my first post. I think after intake and tune, I definitely need some new seats. I took the Rabbit on a 4 hour one way road trip today and they weren\'t comfortable at all compared to my B6 seats. My back hurts like hell now. Anyone have any input on how comfortable the Mk5 plaid vs Mk6 plaid seats are? I already have heated seats, so that\'s not an issue. Opinions, from anyone?\n

\n Personally, I love the 3 spoke rims on a hatch. I don\'t think I could pull them off myself. But then again, it all depends on the size, and if your gonna make them flush or not...\n

\n I personally wouldn\'t waste money on a tune for 10 to 15HP @ crank unless it is worth it to have a bit more than all the others. I would rather save for a turbo kit.
    \n
\nI would add a rear "ARB/sway bar" to your list of suspension mods.
    \n
\nI would suggest keeping the oem harmonic balancer pulley. But if you must have a lightweight pulley...get an oem diameter pulley...no need to reduce the drive on accessories.
    \n
    \nDP suggestion: http://techtonicstuning.com/main/ind...oducts_id=2545
    \n
\nIntakes? Not sure how many options are out there, but any should work out and price may be the only factor worth considering: http://www.autohance.com/injen-sp302...7_0BoC_3rw_wcB\n

\n I did a touch of detailing the engine bay the other day. Anyone have recommendations on best way to clean it up? What to use for the plastics? Etc.

\nAlso, don\'t mind my ugly mug. That\'s a before, the other 2 are after.

\n Well, I haven\'t done much because of lack of funds, but I need a bit of help/insight from anyone that knows the Mk5 audio system...
    \n
\nThe PO of the car thought it would be a good idea to hack apart the radio harness and wire in a ****ty touchscreen headunit. I\'ve since attempted to fix it. I\'ve pulled a harness and radio from a junkyard car. All wiring/colors matches up, so I figured it would be a straight forward process. I\'ve temporarily connected everything with spade connectors just to make sure it\'ll all work. It doesn\'t. The aftermarket headunit worked when spliced in, but the OEM one doesn\'t at all. I\'ve checked all fuses (on both radios and in the car). I\'ve hooked BOTH radios straight to battery to check things that way. Once connected to battery, neither radio works at all. But, again, aftermarket one worked in the car, just required to be turned on and off manually.
    \n
\nAnyone have any insight or suggestions I can try?
    \n

\n All good. I figured you finally got tired of me or something. Haha.
    \n
\nSo, in other news, I finally bought my first "mod" for the Rabbit today. Nothing special really. Just some 65w H7 Osram Rallye bulbs from CandlePower. Just need a little something to hold me over until I can do the HID projector retrofit. So, there\'s that. I can upload comparison pictures in the day and night for anyone interested once I get them in.\n

\n So, just a little update. I\'ve bought a few things. Traded for a few things. Etc. So, here\'s the tiny list of things I\'ve gotten.
    \n
\nNew Helix/Depo projectors (I\'d like to do a Mini H1 retrofit, but I don\'t think I\'ll be keeping this much longer honestly):
    \n
    \n
    \n
\nOrdered myself a dash cubby thing and a new rear window wiper because mine looked original, but only a picture of the dash cubby because that\'s the exciting bit:
    \n
    \n
    \n
\nAnd finally, got rid of some junk I had laying around for some OEM Fahrenheit wheels. They need cleaned up and new tires, but I\'m not worried about that right now. I plan to get them hydrodipped, but I don\'t know what I want yet anyway. (Sorry for the absolute **** quality, my phone is slowly killing itself..):

      Talking What a Bunny.

      Hello, everyone.

Been a few years since I've been on here, but it's been a few years since I owned a hatch.

BUT I'M BACK. YAY! Or not. Whichever.

Anyway, I know it's not exactly a GTI, but it's close. I've recently acquired a 2008 Rabbit, and I actually enjoy it a little bit.

Since the last time I was here, I've had a 99.5 Audi A4 Quattro Manual that I did some mods to. I traded for this '08 Rabbit with 98k on it, so I think I did good. The only mod on the Rabbit is an exhaust which I think sounds pretty good.

Planned mod list for the Rabbit?
      Intake (suggestions?)
      Redo the exhaust.
      Lower it.
      Different wheels.
      Tuned (suggestions?)
      Underdrive pulley
      Mk6 Plaid interior seats
Some other little things. Ideas are always welcome.

I plan to use this as like an idea/help type thread. Just kinda get back into the VW stuff and meet some new forum members and things like that.

Anyway, onto the only picture I have of it right now because it's pretty dirty.
