    Default 1984 gti

I just picked up a 84 GTI that had been sitting in a barn for about 2-3 years. It started and I got it home. Barely. But the fuel injection is junked on it and I ordered a Weber 2 barrel conversion for it.
Had anybody done this and how big a pain is this going to be? Its been about 25 years since I last worked on a gti mech. fuel injection.
The car is pretty nice to have been sitting for so long. Still have to get rear brakes, tires and an exhaust. Just dont have alot of money to get the fuel injection reworked and ordered the Weber kit to takes its place.
    Any input is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I been going out there everyday and sparying everything down with WD40. Drained the tank yesterday, and that was a nasty job.
I got the 2 barrel conversion kit with the manifold and everything for $395.37 shipping inlcuded.
Its just been a long time since I have worked on these.
Got pictures of it in the barn on my facebook page.
    Thanks

Sweet find. I love the look of the older GTIs. An older guy(mid 60s) pulled up next to me while I was getting gas on Sunday and was asking me about my car. guess his son has an older GTI, he's had a few VWs also, I asked if he wanted sell it but he said no haha Gave him my number just in case he does decide to sell it one day.
