Default Vag-docs

Well, I didn't know really where to stick this....I looked around the site and here seemed to be the most appropriate place.

I just picked up: Volkswagen GTI, Rabbit: 2006-2007 Official Factory Repair Manual on CD-ROM

http://www.repairmanual.com/catalog/VAG6 (Delivered next week)

So, if anyone is stuck, needs info, or anything let me know....and I'll get what you need... no sense in spending that coin and not help'n out the crew

Does anyone have Vag-Com in the I.E.? Preferably near the Moreno Valley/Riverside area. I just bought my GTI and looking to shut off the DRL and control the windows frm my remote. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

The current best of seems to be:

1) Turn off DRL's
2) Turn off Seat Belt Chime
3) Turn on Roll up/down window feature with key remote

There are a million thou - so go read up :P

I switched the DRL's to the fog lights

Fogs on w/ Highbeams

Activated the emergency brake light flasher (wish there was a way to control the delay).

I tried to get the passing lights to work with the HID hi-beams on- but no luck. Anyone else done this? (The country code seemed not to jive with the info I had.)

I tried this last week myself, i somehow ended up with strobe lights! (yes, really, but only with the engine running) I got the passing lights to come on with the hi beam switch, but then the HID hi beams don't work. I may try again if I get time.

Hello To ALL,

Dean (Gti 4 Life) from New Zealand. Got an 05 GTi V had a 98 GTi IV before that. My 05 does not have the MFD function and I have to go to the VW dealer to get any changes done, and then they cant- they couldnt put off the comming home lights so the VAGCOM seems the way to go.
I'm doing my home work as I seem to be the only member from down under and would have to import from the USA. Anyone do dealings down here so I can get an idea on freight costs?

Hey everyone,

I'm waiting for my 08 GTI to get here from ze germans. And I was able to download the VAG-COM software (thank god for the internet). But now I need the hardware. Is there anywhere in Canada where I can get just the cable? Or could I make one if I needed to?

Anyone know if its possible to keep the lights in the foot well on while the car is driving. Something along the lines of what BMW does?

Cheers

worked great for me
