soo after years of being pulled over and let go. i finally got my ticket this morning 43 in a 25

cop jus came up and asked for my license and told me i was getting a ticket.

I've been driving for almost 13 years and have had at least one countable point on my record since 3 months after I got my license. It would take a while to list em all.


Sorry bout your first ticket, just be glad its that, your first. I havent been let off but a couple times, so consider yourself lucky !! :x

That surprises me seeing as how I've done 140 in a 35. okay okay, it was an old back-road that goes on for about 3 miles, but it sounds cool right?

my friend and i were driving out to his house, i was doing 100 in a 35. he's about 1/8 of a mile ahead of me and im going over a hill and he calls me and he screams in my ear "COP" so i slam on my brakes and start downshifting to get some engine braking help and then right at the top of the hill im going 50 and the cop comes over and just points his thumb down at me. so i got a lucky break thanks to my friend

i have had, just 2 tickets, the first one was about a 2000 dollar one though, i was 15 and i didnt have my license, no lisence, insurance doesnt cover me, the cop wrote on the ticket, he saw me do 3 mph around a corner, i did cali roll'n'go. 350 for the light, about 700 for the insurance, and another 200 for no license, and the toke me car away and sold it.

my second one, i blasted through a red light. another one was in the gti, 2 weeks in i got pulled over for nothing, he jusat walked up and tyold me the speed limit was 70. i wasnt their yet, then he walked away.

They are! if you can get to the bands before they hit it big. I went to an awesome concert a couple of months ago. 5 bands about 5 hours... 13 bucks. First come first serve on where you wanna stand.

New system lets San Jose cops issue citations in a flash

An electronic ticketing device unveiled by San Jose police today will allow officers to issue and record citations in minutes, rather than the hours taken taken under the current hand-written system.

"Welcome to the 21st century," San Jose Police Chief Rob Davis said at a news conference in front of police headquarters. "We are the capital of Silicon Valley and have not been able to take advantage of the technology in our own backyard. . . . We have to leverage the technology to make us more effective."

San Jose is the first Bay Area city to implement the electronic ticketing device, a handheld system very much like a PDA that allows officers to swipe a driver's license, print out the ticket and transmit the information into a database using wireless technology. The system, provided by 3i Infotech, was funded by a $782,000 grant and took about one year to develop.

There are between 45 to 50 devices in use now, Davis said, with plans for 125 more to be implemented in October.

When making a traffic stop, officers will scan the magnetic strip on the back of a California driver's license and quickly issue a citation. Also, officers will carry a small device that allows them to take fingerprints in the field.

Previously, officers wrote citations on a three-copy paper and turned them into the records unit, where the data was re-entered by a clerk. Another paper copy was sent to the courts, where a clerk again entered the information into a database.

Davis called the old process "very, very labor intensive and a waste of our staff time."

Catherine Gallagher, presiding judge of the Santa Clara County Superior Court, said the county handles about 250,000 citations a year, and the new paperless system will allow for "less error and more efficiency in the entire system." Gallagher added that she hopes lines at traffic court will become shorter as a result of the new process.

San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed said the new system will "save tremendous amounts of time elsewhere in the system."

The electronic ticketing system will also allow detectives working cases to obtain critical information "in real time" and not have to sort through paper copies in the record room, Davis said.

The chief hopes that other Bay Area cities will follow San Jose's lead and adapt the electronic ticketing device, which would allow Bay Area law enforcement agencies to develop a widespread database.

"Suspects don't have borders," Davis said.

I've seen meter maids with similar systems for a while....I always figured cops didn't use them because too much event specific info had to be recorded on the ticket itself. I never really thought about all the time tracking the paper once it hits the records people.

It seems like we will still have to wait while the cop enters our info into the device though. Swiping the license is only going to fill in a few lines. Seems like a great opportunity to use a fake ID too. The Cop is in a hurry and doesn't have to really pay atttention to the data he used to manully transfers to the ticket anymore. "Please sign here Dr. Galackowitz"

They spent an awful lot of time trying to explain this new technology.

Woulda been easier to just say " With this new device, we will be able to write 3 times as many tickets and make a ton more money ...Woooo Hooo " that 3/4 million they spent will be recouped in 6 months.

The DMV here in Vegas makes more money than the casino's, they charge you the cost of your plate depending on the price of the vehicle 600 bucks for my GTI plates. Seatbelt ticket here is 200 bucks...fugettabout a speeding ticket because it will be expensive and the rise in insurance will kill you...being as Las Vegas is #1 in Vehicle theft in the country, insurance is already high.

Okay... so remember I said I had no tickets and only one warning in since almost 4 years ago?..

Well, last night I got my second warning.
I was driving my sister's Mitsubishi Endeavor... it was dark and rainy and I was going about 75 in a 60 and I passed up a truck.. IN A NO PASSING ZONE. I saw the lights turn on and thought, "Well, there goes my perfect record..." I was really polite and didn't try to excuse my actions. HE LET ME OFF! He didn't even say I was getting a warning... he just said, "The roads are wet son. You need to slow down. You're only 18."

I hadn't realized how slow the truck was going and I thought it was safer passing him then putting my brakes on (I don't trust SUV's).

nice, i got a little lucky today, goin home from my friends house and im going 65 in a 45 and i see this cop looking over the road from this driveway and he doesn't even try to follow me

My wife got a ticket last week in my fast going to a show... 88mph in a 70 zone, but what's funny is i asked her what gear she was in and she told me 4th... then wondered why i got more upset... i was like, "DOUCHE, you were still accelerating at 88!!!!"

Anyway, i like to drive fast, but i'm pretty careful, she got nabbed just getting off the freeway onramp...

Women... arghh!!!! She claims she was just trying to pass someone and all of the sudden she was going 90... in her defense... her old car was an automatic no balls civic... so i almost believe her.
