Default Subwoofer in My fahrenheit

So I've been considering buying a sub, but i'm not sure how or if it would fit in my trunk at all. Does anyone know anything about this? does anyone have a sub in their GTI's trunk? also, any brands or types of subs that are good for this car. Thanks.

Here's something to consider if you're concerned about saving space:

I looked at those custom boxes, but I had an old sub and amp from a previous vehicle and they work great- so I saved some coin and reused them in my GTI. It's a 12" sub in a closed box with the amplifier screwed onto the back of the box. Used quick connects so I can pull it out for more space if needed. It takes up about 1/3 of the hatch and stands just under the hatch cover, so it's out of sight for theft deterrent reasons. Haven't had to pull it out yet in the 3 months that it's been in there- just drop the opposite rear seat if I need more room. 300 Watt amp into the 12" sub is pretty powerful- have it set to 1 out of 10 and it dries my hair in the AM.

what kind of sub (speaker part) would you all recommend for one of the stealth boxes? or do they come with it?
