So I've been considering buying a sub, but i'm not sure how or if it would fit in my trunk at all. Does anyone know anything about this? does anyone have a sub in their GTI's trunk? also, any brands or types of subs that are good for this car. Thanks.

As far as the sub brand, that is your preference. Im sure if you go to a decent sound store they will give you the run down on the subs. I have a bazooka tube in my hatch that is secured so it doesnt roll around. It is a JBL brand.

^^ Nicely done!
I bought a generic sub box for a generic JL 12 and it fits nicely in side my hatch. Still have room for groceries and 2-3 back packs, or 5-6 grocery bags. If you did a 10" sub that would give you even more space. As for what brand, definitely up to you, everyone has their own preferences of music and sound. Go to as many dealers as you can and listen to LOTS of subs, just don't buy the first one that they play for you, or tell you this is the greatest sub...blah, blah, blah...make up your own mind and buy what you want. You have plenty of room for many different systems. Have fun and good luck |

i have a 15" kicker L7 its too ****in big with the ported box that came wtih it. i had it in my truck and i had to pull the back seat out to make it fit wtih the 2 amps. im not sure if i want that box in my car, so i might build a removable fiberglass box for it

There are several companies that build space saving subs if you're concerned about saving space. Try this one for example: www.freewebs.com/uber-stealth/
