Default Help with Water/Meth

Hey guys, I have an 07 MKV GTi, nd Im putting together a water/meth kit. Im not gunna get those ready made kits cuz most of them are expensive. Anyway, im looking for a nozzle. Can anyone w/ experience in water/meth tell me whats the best size nozzle to get ( ie: xxx mL/min ). Im only installing 1 nozzle, and my current relevant performance mods are : carbonio intake, APR 93 octane tune. I wont be going past stae 2+, so no k04.

Thanks in advanced

Good luck, I've been looking for the same info. From what I've gathered it's not the best to do on APR.

I was told it won't work because APR doesn't support water/meth kits? I guess, I'm not sure?

Silly VW's are nothing like working on other cars, lol.

o hah, It sounds kinda weird. If anything its gotta be helpful. Since we're pushin more boost the compressed air is hotter, so water/meth injection acts as a boost cooler. But, I look around nd read up about Water/Meth vs APR.

Boggng is a negative I can think of. But you would get that if u spray at a low boost, like 1-3 psi or somthing. Im gunna set the injectors to go off at 10 psi.

I put in about $145 into this (the pump, nozzle, etc). My uncle gave me a pressure switch (those shudn't be too expensive). Those are the 3 big things. All the rest includes tubing, pump fittings, wiring, mini-clamps, relay. Those things combined is very inexpensive. Altogether, it was way less than the $470 Snow performance kits, or the $300 something devils own kit. I'll be posting a vid a little later of what everything looks like. Probably no gtec results because NY is having crap weather rite now nd the roads are kinda wet but look out for some results maybe late next week.

Im planning on buying APRs DP at waterfest, so soon stage 2 w/ w/m injection. It sounds cool rite, stage 2 w/ water injection. I wonder if I can get the stage 2+ file from APR w/o the fuel pump. I should email APR
I really doubt it, I mean at that point your car would be using the WM pretty much as its main fuel source just because you most likely will hit fuel cut at peak tq

This is true. But, it could work. I've got a pressure switch thats adjustable 2-10psi. Im thinking that stage 2+ program maybe turns up the boost a little bit across the band? cuz more boost is more torque, and with w/m, instead of sucking in just air, ur sucking in meth nd air, so more fuel. BUt im not sure, Im just thinking out loud now. Only way to find out is ask APR or look at logs nd stuff

yeah but there's what 21 points that the software resets so boost is one but even then theres 20 more including fuel delivery via factory fuel system, which is why ocassional fuel cuts are not unheard of, I'm not 100% as to if meth could work in its place, but it just seems like at that point your loosing all the benefits of meth when they could be fully utilized. i.e. your car is under the most load, just my thoughts

ya, ur definitely rite. And now that I think about it, the boost that I see is like never the same. I gotta do some research, and I just sent APR an email, so im interested to see what they have to say. Ill let u kno when they respond

Apr has a chart on their site with the efficency of the 2.0t fuel pump, lemme grab that for ya

I know thats an exageration as its stg 3 but you can imagine that even in the peak tq in the low end and mid range you'd experience a little leaning out if not an all together cut

I kno that these stage 1/ stage 2 programs make pretty big HP gains at lower rpms (I think I read somewhere that APR stage 1 gives something like 50 HP at lower rpms), so Im guessing thats where the fuel cuts take place (the big boost spikes are also at lower rpms)? If so, my little theory w/ the water meth compensating for the fuel may still have a chance, but as you said before there are a bunch of things to take into consideration.
