Default Giac Flashloader question

Hey, i was wondering, does anyone here kno if you can run the race program of the Giac chip with 93 octane without damaging ur engine.

I asked the same question from my GIAC guy months ago....he said "Dude....don't do it, the program wasn't written for it and that should be enough."

I don't know any technical info why....but it scared me enough not to try it.

The technical reason you shouldn't do this is because low-octane fuel plus high cylinder pressure equals boom. The race program uses even more aggressive boost, fuel, and timing maps than the 93 octane program. The car would run fine on 93 octane as long as you kept your foot off the throttle.
