Hey everyone...
Anyone else with a DSG who's been reflashed (by any of the manufacturers) have any issues with shifting in auto mode? When I gun it in auto mode, the car is so insistent on still shifting at 3k rpms. This is a problem because every time it shifts, my DV opens up, and I have to build boost all over again. The DSG was designed with NOT losing boost in mind. The shift points are always jacked up. For example, when I put it back into stock mode, she'll rev to at least 4 grand before shifting...but in pump gas mode, usually only 3k. Almost as if the DSG is confused? Or the shift points weren't remapped, only the boost on the turbo. In addition to this, often times instead of downshifting going up a hill, the motor will just continue to build boost, even at engine speeds as low as 1.5k-2k, all the way up to about 21 lbs.!! This annoys me because I'd rather not blow up my motor, or anything else...I'd rather the engine work a little harder at a more comfortable engine speed, than constantly pumping 21 psi of compressed air into my fast!!! Anyone else with DSG and a re-flash, please lemme know what to do!! or which chip I should switch to if that's the case. :-(

I have a GIAC flash on my 06 with DSG. When I am in plain old drive it will normally shift at around 2-3k in normal driving, but gets goofy and still shifts at 3-4k when I get heavy footed. The way I avoid the problem is by putting it into sport mode when I know it is going to get floored.
BUT I bought the car used and have not purchased the software/cabling to swap modes on the flash. I have not verified what mode I am in or if the flash is still in place, I simply found a receipt for a GIAC flash in the owners manual when I bough the car. I am about an hour south of you if you want to see how another car handles the same chip send me a PM.

The switcher, that thing looks sweet I was thinking about grabbing one but havent pulled the trigger yet.
I will be around this Sunday, I am helping a friend move on Fri night and Sat afternoon. We could try and meet in Tenton somewhere it looks about 1/2 for each of us. I have no idea whats in that city though I have never been in it, but im always up for some new things . Let me know what would work for you coming up so we can get this planned and maybe make a quick little Dirty Jerz meet out of it for the day.
