I was reading on another forum that if you're in manual mode and hold down the + paddle while punching it, the ecu will not upshift even when it reaches redline... basically giving you the ability to bounce off the rev limiter
Can anyone confirm this? And how would you do it? say shift from 3rd to 4th by pressing and holding down the + paddle for example, or press and hold + while still in 4th?

When tracking/autocrossing your car, sometimes you want to keep it in one gear instead of shifting up for 1 second then shifting down immmediately again, say for a corner, so at this point you would redline for 1 or 2 seconds instead of shifting up.
The DSG would just shift up in this instance, and then take 2-3-4x as long to shift back down a second later as it's probably pre-engaged the next higher gear, anticipated more acceleration.

I know APR is currently working on a DSG tune, and one other company already has one, to give you full control of the GearBox to allow you to run to redline and stop that annoying shift on its own thing so you could check that out. I'll look into it and get you more info but I'm pretty sure theres no way to run it to redline with stock programming.

Yeah, there's a few DSG tunes out there already.
I would not get a DSG tune, because I've got a 100k km warranty on it, and I would rather not have that voided. I should be able to try the paddle trick this afternoon, see if it indeed works
