Default Clutch life with chip?

How strong is the stock clutch on these cars? I have an 03 1.8 and i used to have a cobalt and hung out on their forums and once you went stage 2 on those cars the clutch usually started slipping. I want to get the APR Stg1 chip but i don't want to have to replace the clutch right afterwards either. Also how much does this chip shorten the life of the turbo? I tryed searching these questions but didnt find any answers for the MKIV

Actually just had this issue with my 02 1.8t. Clutch lasted like 1 month on a GIAC chip with the 93 octane program. Tons of slipping...

On the upside, i replaced the clutch with a single mass system when it failed. If your clutch goes out, the clutch upgrade rocks. Makes the car faster and the clutch feels better.

Hmm, ok. I was just kinda curious. If the clutch or turbo happens to go out thats not a big deal, i will just upgrade. I only drive the car in the summer anyways. But i was kinda curious seeing how a search didnt bring it up at all. volcano, is that 65k miles with the tune or just 65k miles on the car?

Anybody know which Coil packs to get? I want to have these on hand for when i get chipped. I suspect one of them is weak and i know if i get chipped it will go out on me.

Probably either these http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Coil_Pack/ES518033/

or maybe http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Coil_Pack/ES7536/

And my only experience with a clutch and a chip was when I ran APR's 6 hour trial on my 1.8T had about 109XXX miles at the time, my clutch kinda slipped every now and then. I should upgrade it but money always a factor

Well, i decided against the tune. Its going to cost too much in nessasary supporting mods for the minmal gain (for the same price i could have kept my stang and had 300hp to the wheels). I'm just going to leave my car stock. I got a sportbike instead.

welcome to the wonderful world of tuning.

how many mile on the clutch

i dont think it will slip if you know how to drive and the clutch is good

the stock clutch is rated for more then what the tune will get you

53k miles. i can drive, but i like to drive hard the majority of the time. Its bad enough the car likes to to cruise at 85-90 without me paying attention, dont really need more power.

I dropped my bike on the street twice, and realized it wasn't for me. And this is from a guy who has ridden motocross and enduros since I was 8, so I'm no stranger to bike handling.

It's the asshole drivers you have to watch out for. I think about getting another bike every day, but I really want to live and/or walk around for a while.

i get out of the way of bikes purposely to avoid accident / harm. For example, if I see one cruising down the middle of the road (on a 2 lane highway such as one near my house), i'll move more towards the side to allow him/her more room. too bad other people don't share my thinking

I dont think you can get 3 wheel out of a stang for 400-500 bucks

I had everything done to it (intake, headers, full exhaust, cam ect) except i never finished a pair of heads that i had for it, would have been pretty close.

yeah, i have that now and i have the new coil packs sitting in my room. I was going to get the apr then i got sick, then they were going to honor the price and i went to go up there and got a $140 speeding ticket, then i looked into uni and decided i want that instead (its like i am not supposed to get apr or something, just not ment to be lol). I really love my gti now, i've driving it almost 11k miles since june and i love it!

I'd go Uni if I was gonna get re chipped, and speeding tickets are a 'supporting mod' for being chipped lol

Bikes are fun, but can't understand why people get anything bigger than 600s. Imo smaller bikes are much more fun for riding cuz i can just toss em around on corners and get some nice leans. I wanted to get a 400CC except im forced to go for a 600, prolly a CBR 07+ it seems since theyre the smallest in size and weight.
