Just talked to matt from Black Forest industries here in NC and he said that some of the older '06s have a problem with the DV when this reflash is performed. Anybody have any further info about this potential problem? -- he also said there is an upgraded DV valve avail to handle the flash. sorry, I'm considering this upgrade and am trying to get all the info I can. newbie here. Thanks in advance for any responses..

Ok well let me say this. I have an 07 gti, 500 miles came and I flashed my ecu with APR 93 octane which you should do as well. My dv went at like 1,500 miles. I lost so much boost in my car due to a minor rip on the rubber of the dv. The dv is under warranty because it is a know problem. Chip or no chip they have to replace it due to this well known problem on gti's , passats and the eos. Chipping will run more pressure through the dv, go with an upgraded dv so you won't have to chance a dealership visit. p.s. put a spacer on the dv. screw a bov!! Try to find a mod friendly dealership, and you can even tell them you chipped your car. Chipping is a safe thing.

its an aftermarket modification, the dealer wil only replace your DV if it is ripped, and they will replace it with the OEM part each time it breaks...I chose to skip over that hassle and went with a Forge DV.
found a new one online from a fellow GTI owner for $200 a couple months back ![]() |
