Default Air Intake HELP

Is there a cold air intake that i can get on my GTI that doesn't require me to remove or trim the stock engine cover?

Make sure if you go with the Carbonio to remove the MAF screen inside the stock cover. It will add a few extra HP...lil trick I've learned from:

false. the pipe is way too big and is right in the way of the engine cover. you can trim the cover to fit. need a table saw or something like that. or if your good with a dremel and have a few hours to kill. i might do that to mine one of thease days.

this is prolly what they were talking about.

not enough for you to feel, but def. sounds great. It will also make your dv sound louder. I would say you can get like 7 hp with a nice intake.

It's pretty close...

However, if I lived in an area that floods on a regular basis, I'd consider it.

The difference in power between a short ram and a full CAI is negligable on our cars...At the velecity that the turbo pulls in outside air, there isn't much time for it to heat up...just my 2 cents.

I just added a K&N drop filter to mine and it made it a little louder but not a lot. It does add some WHP but how much I couldn't tell you. Probably only a little less than a CAI would. Just have your resonator removed, this will add a better sound to your exhaust. I gotta do this soon.....

See kryptonkid's post http://myfastgti.com/volkswagen/show...lips-3225.html

He's got a link to hear it too on page 2....
