So living in Texas comes with very hot temperatures in the summer. One day into owning my GTI made me quickly realize the stock shift knob SUCKS! The aluminum trim on it gets as hot as a cast iron skillet. I swear I could barely touch the shift knob when I was trying to leave work. It really, really sucked. I have a small hand towel in the car now that I put over the shift knob to try and keep it from getting so hot.

I have been redflaged across america by my local vw dealership...i brought my car there to see what is wrong with it b/c check engine light came on about a boost leak....they did a diagnostic test on it found a awe dv on it which i put on to try to help my boost leak in the first place...i didn't think they would make a big deal about it but i guess i was wrong....they have "suspicion" it is chipped...i have non oem "bolts" and "clamps" which the stock ones were... Check Engine Light |

I have a 2008 GTI with 22k miles on it. Just recently did my 20k Service about 2 weeks ago.
About three hours ago my check engine light came on. I suppose it could be anything but I was wondering if you guys could give me some ideas.
Also I noticed something going on with my driver side door. After I've opened the door every now and again the lock will click a couple times, sometimes over and over repeatedly until I lock the door and unlock it again.

Looking for someone with a VagCom in or around Shreveport LA. From what I have read (could be totally wrong) the software can flash the fault codes and I need to get a tune up at the dealership. At least I can get some of the features I want done. Thanks.
